
Advisory from California’s Attorney General Xavier Becerra includes reminder of consumer data privacy rights and information on how to stay secure online during the COVID-19 crisis.
The AG statement advises consumers to know their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
*Websites that collect and sell personal information should have a “Do Not Sell My Information” link to opt-out of the sale of personal information.
*Right to request that the business delete personal data that it has collected.
*Right to request that a business disclose what personal information the business collects, uses, shares, or sells.
